FAQ
These are common questions asked of us:
Q: What is an off-site event?
A: A book signing, author appearance, or book sales at an event that takes place in a location other than a bookstore. We bring the bookstore to you.
Q: What kind of events do you handle?
A: Any kind of event where books can be sold, ranging from small gatherings to conventions.
Q: What territory do you cover?
A: Fieldstone Book Company will consider any venue, big or small, in the New York Metropolitan area (New York City (all five boroughs), New Jersey, Westchester, Long Island, Connecticut, and The Hudson Valley.)
Q: Do you report to the New York Times Bestseller List?
A: We do! All book sales made by Fieldstone Book Company at your event will be reported to the New York Times that week.
Q: Is there a charge for your services?
A: No, our profits are a result of the books we sell at the event.
Q: What equipment do you need?
A: All we require are chairs and a table adequate to display books, with room for cash and credit card transactions and a place for the author to sign.
Q: Do you need electric or phone hookups?
A: No, other than this website, we’re low tech.
Q: Do you need help?
A: Our experienced staff takes care of it all. You plan the event, and we’ll take care of the books.
Q: How far in advance do we need to book you?
A: We are flexible, depending on our availability and how quickly we can get the books from our suppliers. (Usually very quickly.)
Q: How do you know how many books to bring?
A: Because we have over 20 years of experience providing books for events, we are knowledgeable at estimating how many books will be needed. We are responsible for any unsold copies.
Q: Do you have any references?
A: We do! Contact us for names of some of our satisfied clients.
Q: Do you have a bricks & mortar store?
A: No, but any book in print is available to you through our special order program, and we can deliver it to you for no extra charge. If you are not in the New York Metro area, we encourage you to shop at your local independent bookstore.
